This would never have happened if he'd been called Gerrard Steven. He'd have been confused about his sexuality, but he'd definitely have stayed loyal to the Lawn Tennis Association.

Hmmm, yes, but wages would be a problem, I think - as huge as the fanbase of the Big Two in Scotland is, it's noticeable that even Craig Bellamy's move to Celtic has fallen through in favour of Everton (not that Everton aren't a big club, but respectively few English clubs can compete with Celtic and Rangers for catchment area) because Celtic can't match his wages at Newcastle. It isn't going to happen.

Feel sorry for Steven Gerrard, imagine being offered such a paltry sum as £100,000 a week, how is he ever going to manage on that? After tax and National Insurance he would be only left with about £50,000 a week. It's a real shame.
