As a keen gamer it would be interesting to see how many gamers are on RHP and what systems they are playing. I for one play rolemaster, more realistic than D&D. Check out Mesmiris and Smythe who are also serious gamers and members and leader of the Tolkien Clan.

Sure nothing like killing something with an A tiny crit ! But i love the simplicity of D&D as you have more time for roleplaying and less time spent on looking up combat charts and initiative tables. The big plus for rolemaster is the broadness of its spellusers and the corresponding spell lists. Not to mention no matter how useless the situation may appear you can beat the odds with a few open ended roles and then a 66. Argh... ! The glory
Originally posted by deathbypawnI remember reading the game and it sounded good. I wanted to play myself, but I couldn't guarantee the time. I have had a game going with Jarryd and Smythe and other friends for some 20 years now. We started off playing AD&D and then moved into Rolemaster. Rolemaster is the better game, but you need a good sized group so that the DM doesn't get swamped with looking up tables all day. If you dish out the work, it ends up being a very good game. And now we are supposedly grown-ups the games have got better as we care less about making our characters invincible and more about buidling the roleplaying side of the game.
I love al roleplaying games we had a game going here a little while agao where I was DM for the first time it went pretty well but I didnt have the time to truly put into it with school and everythin. Check the D&D New adventure forum to see how it went.

I've written about the games here someplace if you perhaps search. Roleplaying comes up a lot on these forums. I look forward to when I get time for a good one.

Originally posted by PhlabibitAs we get older we find it very difficult to plan games as we have scattered somewhat. I live in Dallas, we have one in Luxembourg, one in Belfast, one in Bristol, etc etc. Not easy. I could join a club in Dallas, but we have all invested so many years in our characters and we have a way of gaming which we are all relaxed with, so joining a new bunch of people wouldn't be as fun I think.
