This'll get you started, make up your own words, everyone else does.

O Canada!
You gave me the promised land and called me free,
I picked up a shovel and went to work,
I bought an ass to carry my burden.

O Canada!
You've taxed my shovel and I'm no longer free,
You've kicked my ass,
And given away the promised land.

O Canada B*tches!

Just trying to help HandJob and Canada 😉

I'd always thought of HJ as more of a "curmudgeon" than a "troll" 😕

"What is a Curmudgeon anyway?

A curmudgeon's reputation for malevolence is undeserved. They're neither warped nor evil at heart. They don't hate mankind, just mankind's absurdities. They're just as sensitive and soft-hearted as the next guy, but they hide their vulnerability beneath a crust of misanthropy. They ease the pain by turning hurt into humor. . . . . . They attack maudlinism because it devalues genuine sentiment. . . . . . Nature, having failed to equip them with a servicable denial mechanism, has endowed them with astute perception and sly wit.

Curmudgeons are mockers and debunkers whose bitterness is a symptom rather than a disease. They can't compromise their standards and can't manage the suspension of disbelief necessary for feigned cheerfulness. Their awareness is a curse.

Perhaps curmudgeons have gotten a bad rap in the same way that the messenger is blamed for the message: They have the temerity to comment on the human condition without apology. They not only refuse to applaud mediocrity, they howl it down with morose glee. Their versions of the truth unsettle us, and we hold it against them, even though they soften it with humor."

All of which still doesn't mean that Rochester, NY doesn't truly need, HJ 😀

Maybe it's just me, but when I read a thread written by a fighting nihilist, which generaly express pride of the writer about his country commiting a genocide, and this humorous softening you write about is the moral that all the rest of the mankind is roughly the same it makes me sick...

But as I told, mayby it's just me.

Also, mayby I'm not sensible enough, but even my empathy proves insufficient to find this vulnerability under the crust of misanthropy .

And I used the troll here, just coloquially. If I would try to express my own feelings. I would probably get banned from 3c violation.

My commentary is just that, words. They are meant to invoke a reaction though and make people think. Everything I typed about the geonicide of the North American Indian is absolutely true and disgusting. Yet, as with the most succesful slaughters of the innocent, the mass murder barely makes a blip on the radar screen of history.

Even today, we all but ignore the wholesale slaughter of the citizens of various 3rd world countries. Examples abound, but, after the US pulled out of Vietnam, 2 million died uncomfortably. They are still counting the dead in Rwanda. On and on and on... ad nauseum.

I make posts to get a reaction and I challenge others beliefs. I like to know why people believe what they believe as it helps solidify my own beliefs. I like to through out uncomfortable topics because they get strong reactions and strong reactions stir interesting debate.

Actually I thought the small pox blankets were a United States thing. I thought Canada's thing was the horrendous boarding schools.

One thing for certain, you did challenge my beliefs. At least, one of them which is, that the victims of genocides, any of them are not to be be used in jokes or provocations. Even those, which ae going to make people think. Another question, if it is really possible. Those of us who think, would think, will have their own opinions and those who don't know or care,or simply are idiots... you won't help.

In fact, after this post I'm not sure what exactly Your views are, and if my Fighting Nihilist which you cared to put in Your profile is good choice. Nevertheless, what drove me mad, was this paranoid moral about people at all.

Regardless, my little tirade did engage you. The victims of genocide must be used in provocations. The alterative is to let them be forgotten.

Your 'fighting nihilist' was a perfect, if superficial, handle for me. Thanks.

I'm not sure I totally understand what you mean by "paranoid moral about people at all." I think it is a mistake to think that people are basically good. Not only are we basically self serving bastards, our basest motivations are instinctual and animalistic. Under stress we fend for ourselves. Under duress we fight. It takes a concious decision to oppose these hard wired survival instincts. Plus, people suck, just look around you.

Perhaps my own, semi-sociopathic, approach to life as adversely affected my view of people and life. However, 5,000 years of violent human history would support my viewpoint. For any puppy hugging, feel good story that you can come up with I can give you a good genocidal torture story that will just warm you heart.

Get a grip, Nancy. Society's a turd circling the bowl of reality and, apparently, we're not going to do a damn thing aout it.
