Now there's a fair point -- there might be a lot of home-brewers in Canada who brew great beer, but not on a large scale for distribution, let alone for export.
No for personal use only. Cheaper to make especially in todays world and the government doesn't make a profit on it. 😉

Especially dark beers don't travel well, a Guinness in the states is no where near as nice as in Ireland. I think they make the stuff in America but ingredients aren't goung to be the same,
I've had Guinness outside of Ireland that was better than some I've had in the British Isles. I cannot claim any of it was better than at the brewery itself, because I only had one pint there. However, I've also had complete travesties of Irish stout outside of Ireland, and I don't think the beer itself was to blame. Rather, the marketeer was.

Beer is often sold. erm, "locally modified". Even Heineken, which doesn't have much character to begin with, is different in markets outside the Netherlands. Guinnness gets it rather worse. African Guinness is at least interesting; mainland Europe Guinness is not.

it's the same with chocolate, both are called Cadbury but ours is much better.
Oh, lordy lord. How badly you are falling into a trap now. Please do not mistake Cadbury for chocolate.

Yes, English Cadbury is probably better soap than USAnian Cadbury. But neither of them is chocolate. Please. Do not make me send a Belgian your way.
I've bought quite a lot of American beer in small cans that travel well, ipas mostly
Stands to reason. IPAs were developed specicfically to travel well.

I've been informed from reliable sources that it's the worse on the planet.
Try it for yourself never mind your 'so called reliable sources'.

I've tried several Canadian beers in my time, they tasted pretty good to me. The bottom 3 IMHO are Lone Star and 2 from my own state of WA. Rainier and Olympia, please avoid these.
Olympia is the single most dreadful beer on the planet. They make prison inmates drink it for punishment.

Visit the Pacific Northwest. We've got some wonderful beers being brewed right here and right on location.
