It was probably a good thing for Duchess64 that she got banned. Her last two or three weeks on this General Forum were a baffling paroxysm of freebasing hatred and personal abuse on her part. And while there may be some posters on the Debates Forum who didn't deserve much respect, her bizarre behaviour here, all of a sudden, on the General Forum made it crystal clear - painfully so - just what a poisonous, and above all an unhealthy, presence she was on this website.

Maybe there is something to be said for a better middle-ground between mob rule and protection from mob rule.

Of course, by saying that I might have engaged in some extreme example of "verbal misconduct" in someone's eyes who will unleash the dogs of Twitter.
