I like cars and another thread gave me an idea to start a thread on cars.
I think it would be cool to know
What was(or probly will be) everyones first car
The car they own now(if any)
everyones dream car
and a car that you can ever be able to pay for
mine are:
What will probly will be my first car: Probly some heap of junk
The car they own now(if any): none
dream car: Hummer
and a car that you can ever be able to pay for: Mini-cooper

My first car was a green Renault 5 campus, it was a horrible car, could not go round bends without leaning, you needed to make the gear box scream to make it go anywhere, and the backend continually moved out in the wet at any pace other than that of a snail.
My current car is a Renault Megane Coupe which is OK, it is the first and last new car I will ever buy. My company car allowance is currently paying for it.
The best car I have driven was my previous company car - Audi A3 1.8T, the most balanced responsive car I have had the pleasure to drive. Very easy to control on the accelerator, the back never stepped out once on it and it never once did something I was not expected.
If I could have any car, who knows, I used to love the Ferrarri 308 when I was a kid, I thought it was sex on wheels with those bullet holes down the side, but now it looks slightly vulga.
I will probably buy a freelander next.
Andrew
I get much of my self-transport done on a Bianchi Brava bicycle, and am quite proud of the 1500 miles I've put on it in the past year. No fossil fuels for this chicken (erm...except when I get a ride from my parents, of go on a long trip...😳). However, I soon have to get my driver's lis(c for the Brits among us)ence.

Don't ask about the mileage I (don't!) get in the truck :'(
Adam, I got my first car in the spring of 1963 when i was 15. I bought it from an uncle for 55 dollars and he payed for 2 used tires at that price. It was a 1949 Studebaker Champion convertible with dual "spot lights", overdrive, and electric top that was still in excellent shape. I drove it to school from fairview, wyo. to afton... about five or six miles every day until i was a senior. It needed some work, so i donated it to the "senior class" fund raiser to earn money for our "senior sneak", wherein we as a class took a school bus to Salt Lake City and stayed over night taking in "The Sound Of Music" movie.... I digress... we charged 50 cents per swing with a 14 pound sledge hammer and raised 275 dollars by beating the Studebaker to death in the school parking lot. By the time we had enough money, the poor car was only a piece of blue metal and leaking fluids. I "borrowed" the army's front end loader from the armory in Afton and hauled the carcass to the city dump in the middle of the night. There is an interesting story in that, but i'm not sure when the statute of limitations runs out, so i can't say too much more about that.
I then owned in succession, a 1949 flat-head ford, a 52 chevy coupe, a 1964 Chevy impala, a 1969 (brand new) Corvette (427 with 3 deuces), a 1970 lincoln Mark III Continental with a real nice 460. The continental had 240 thousand miles on it, had gone through me, my wife and both of my kids hands only to be "killed" in an accident when my "future son in law" borrowed it from my daughter to go to work one night.
My wife drives Nissans and i have an old GMC pickup now. Cars don't have the charm for me that they once did. Every time i think of "old Champ" i want to kick myself. That car, in the shape it was in would be worth a lot of money today. (Ps... Me and the corvette still own the unofficial "Star Valley Idiots Club" time record from Afton to Montpilier Idaho , 51 mountainous miles on old Highway 89 & 91 two lane road. 41 minutes, 12 seconds... Lets you know how bored we were back then for entertainment.)
