I prefer cats because they are soft, smooth, quiet and pretty. They puurs and meows in lovely ways. They don't need much training either. They like cleaning themselves, and love being brushed.
I don't mind dogs who are quiet and well trained. Dogs can be very bad when owners can't train them properly. Nasty dogs intimidate people by barking and chasing. Some dogs are too friendly, try to jump on and lick people and that can be very scarely. Usually they have a big tongue hanging down their mouth..

I would say the overall race is a tie in my book. Cats and dogs are both great, just need to have good individuals of both animals.
i like em both! i have a cat and my beagle died a month ago cause a car hit it! =( so some dogs r stupid and i like standard poodles cause they r actually pretty smart! plus dogs take a ton of trainin (at least a beagle does)! but i like both cats and dogs! =)

Not only are dogs better, dog people are better than cat people. Dog people are like dogs - friendly, outgoing, and full of enthusiasm. Cat people (my faithful clan leader Del notwithstanding) are like cats - introverted, fussy, and snooty.
