@blood-on-the-tracks saidHe lost control of himself and conducted himself really badly.
Even sorry-er if you support 'Carra's' spitting episode. Maybe you could comment on that?
Would you like to comment on why bringing that up was relevant to the preceding conversation? Would you like to comment on linking it to being scouse?
@relentless-red saidSuspended or a big fine?

@very-rusty saidIf my memory is right he didn't work as a pundit for the rest of the season, issued a sincere apology and then went back to work.

It's interesting what people do to redeem themselves. Ask BOTT about the way Nottingham Forest manager Brian Clough redeemed himself after hitting two fans. Aside from the above it's a genuinely funny story. He was one of life's 'one off' characters.
@relentless-red saidThanks r-r,

I don't follow the game that closely. I just figure spitting at people especially with all that is going on in the world the past few years isn't a good thing, not to mention very disrespectful.
So I take it was one of those lost his cool moments?

@very-rusty saidSpat at a fans car who was taunting him from their car whilst alongside his, driving away from a heated encounter between Man Utd and Liverpool that he had covered as a pundit. Pre-pandemic 2018. Out of character, let himself down.

@relentless-red saidShame...He will always be remembered for that one incident in his life!

@very-rusty saidIt doesn't come up that often. I was surprised at BOTT dredging it up just because he had wanted a Liverpool player sent off in a completely unrelated incident.

My memory of Carra will always be a lad from Bootle holding the European Cup above his head in Istanbul.
@relentless-red saidNot everyone is as forgiving as you are r-r!

@relentless-red saidThis is where 'Carra' made his first appearance on this thread, I believe, introduced by you a few pages back.
(Meanwhile in the real world the total was of course three pundits if you don't count Carra as he's ex-Liverpool, but he's pretty objective and doesn't always argue for Liverpool.)
I mentioned the disgusting spitting incident to downplay your 'doesn't always argue for Liverpool' point.
No idea what he is like as a pundit as I don't have Sky Sports, but all the Utd fan (with a child in the car) did was shout one thing like 'good result today, Jamie'. Clearly totally neutral, your Carra
I think he got off VERY lightly. Other pundits have been mercilessly axed by Sky for much less. They got rid of Rodney Marsh for making an admittedly poor taste 'joke' about the tsunami and toon army, but it hardly equates to assaulting a 14 year old with phlegm.
@blood-on-the-tracks saidHave to agree with him there, surprised he wasn't sacked. Maybe Neville had a say on it as they do work well together.
