A blockchain is a method for safe storage of data (in principle) in chess this is the game log which is signed.

Some pople try to sell blockchain as an economic bonus, but normally fail to show wehre exactly the technology brings any advantage.

NFT (non fungible token) is a way to make sure an information (such as a piece of art) cannot be exchanged, so you can make sure that there is only one owner for a given information.
To try to secure the design of chess sets could be a case for NFT's but I seriously doubt, that design's of chess stes will make a lot of money...

@Ponderable

It seems some crazy art based on chess pieces has some future on those NFTs, or even pictures or short videos of chess stars potentially could be tokenized

The thing is .... I don't hear too much of chess on blockchain.... but maybe in the near future some interesting applications could appear.

for example the storage of PGNs ..... or payments for a membership with bitcoin or ethereum

I think blockchain is going to impact chess in some way
