I would be poorer financially and spiritually by leaving
my wife and if the maids go I'll have to live in creased shirts.
I agree with you become poorer financially and spiritually by leaving your wife.

Also lets admit it after awhile they (the maids) actually do become part of your family!

For the past three years we have given our maid a
Christmas bonus/box/present of NZ$500. Since March
she has been job-sharing with her mum-in-law (15 hrs
a week each).

So I innocently say to my wife;
"We'll be giving P & J $250 each for Christmas."
Well ... it was as if I had suggested a murder!

"We always give "P" $500!" she said.
"$250 will be insulting"
...[text shortened]... " and what should we give "J"?

(I'm inclined to think this will split along male/female lines ..)
So has there been a solution?

I left it to the wife.
I'm guessing she was pretty generous because J & P deep-cleaned our house
while we were away (without being asked) and left the girls some prezzies.

It is wife to assign responsibility to the Person more interested as far as the less interested can live with the consequences...
