I’m a huge fan of baked beans. Heinz is my preference.

Hot on their own, on toast, with egg, with sausages and mash.

Or cold straight out of the tin or, if I’m feeling posh, in a dish.

Your thoughts on cold baked beans in particular...?

    Prefer them hot,
    but have eaten them cold,
    the poor man's caviar,
    ...so I've been told.

For anyone wishing to experiment with cold baked beans I highly recommend trying these handy “snak-pot” solutions before going “full-tin”

Love baked beans but not cold.

Tried the low salt /sugar versions but just not the same.

Squashed baked beans on a carpet - very messy.

Now I prefer the cheaper Aldi Corale baked beans, the sauce isn’t too thick and rich and the beans are firm.

Baked Beans are great with pork in them.

Goad is correct it is the poor mans meal.

We ate them alot as kids. Beans made you fart. I remember we would have them on a Saturday and go to Church on Sunday and have a Farting contest. Give me a break we were just kids!!! 😉

Poor you, I can imagine what you had to endure after the beans started to work.

Shouldn't a serious topic like this be in Debates?
(Or even Spirituality for those that enjoy them for Sunday breakfast)

Well it was initially based on a comment by Shav in debates, but I thought I’d bring the core here as I didn’t want to start a thread over there that could create a rift in the left v right continuum.
