That was my tactic, but alerts now are harder to trigger.

"Really? That seems lame. If we're going to see who likes a post we should be able to also see who does not like it. Fair play and all that!" 🙂

"Absolutely. Another reason is that with Thumbs Down now or "Dislikes" eliminated, public forum posting volume will likely increase over time."

one would think that according to the law of Karma such a scenario to be correct, however the annoyance is not that people recommend posts but that one needs to be made aware of it every time they do. Other forums that i frequent state who liked a post and how many people liked a post below the forum post itself. This would be a much better option t ...[text shortened]... ess alerts to find the ones that are of importance, for example when a clan bounces a challenge.
Part of the law of karma, oh Zen master, is that if one fails to get the message by subtle means, then the means become increasingly obtrusive.

Not really, there's a button at the top right you can click for "Recommended" posts. There's not much point in posting something if someone else has so the "thumbs up" thing gives one a way of expressing agreement without posting pointlessly.

I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand it would discourage the habit some people have of automatically "thumbs downing" every poster who is not part of their debating side. On the other hand it adds additional meaning to a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" they'd become political and somewhat tribal. So on balance I think I'm voting for the status quo.

Its fun to go to the recommended list once in a while. Keep that.

Master, water may crash against a mighty rock or slowly drip upon a stone. With constancy it may even make a hole in a large rock

If we are going to keep this feature can we have a select all button in the alerts section so that we can simply select all the posts and delete everyone of these lame notifications?
