The Canadiens at 24 have nothing to worry about πŸ™‚

Montreal Canadiens: 24
Toronto Maple Leafs: 13
Detroit Red Wings: 11
Boston Bruins: 6
Chicago Blackhawks: 6
Edmonton Oilers: 5
Pittsburgh Penguins: 5
New York Islanders: 4
New York Rangers: 4
Colorado Avalanche: 3
New Jersey Devils: 3

etc.
When the franchise was founded in 1909, it was originally called the Club Athlétique Canadien (CAC).In 1917, the team changed its official corporate name to the Club de Hockey Canadien (CHC), which remains the club's official legal name today.

They (Toronto Maple Leafs) had a great rivalry with the The Canadien club back in those early days.

The Montreal Maroons (officially known as the Montreal Professional Hockey Club) were an NHL franchise that played in the league from 1924 to 1938. Founded for the city's English-speaking community, they famously built the Montreal Forum and won two Stanley Cups (1926 and 1935) before folding due to the Great Depression.

Indeed they have quite a History. Now over 30 teams in league is too much and it is more about money now than the game itself.

Growing up in Montreal my team was and still is the Habs/Canadiens. A neighbour of ours, a couple of doors over, was Glen Harmon, a defenceman for the Habs through the 40s into the early 50s. I remember kids birthday parties at their home where players would be at. Players like Gerry McNeil, Rocket Richard, Boom Boom Geffrion and I also remember going to a game at the forum and getting to go into the dressing room after the game. Those guys used to smoke and drink in there. Glen, when the season was over, had a job as a car salesman as did many of the team members. In those days the salaries were nowhere even close to they are today. They played for the love of the game, as do most players today, I guess.

Agreed back in those days they did play for the love of the Game and many said they would have played for nothing. In today's word it is all about money and players go where they can get the most money. I am sure they all love the game, my point is there is no more loyalty to a Team like there once was, with very few exceptions.

Our weather here, for the past week or so has been wonderful, sunny and not too hot. It looks like it’ll be that way till, at least Saturday when they say we might get some rain (40% chance).🀞 Sunday looks like about a 30% chance of some drizzle and that looks like for the afternoon so teeing off 🏌️‍♂️at 10 in the morning.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜

Well appears we are going to have a nice day today. Temps could go up around 25C. It will be hot but very nice to see after all the rain we got the past 2 months.
