I'm sure someone's mentioned this before, but anyone here into writing?
I've been trying to get ideas out of my head and onto paper for a while now to varying levels of success. I have several novels and a couple of short stories floating around in there and finally some of them are starting to come together.
So, I wondered if anyone was interested in starting an RHP writing group. We could all be available for reviewing each other's work, providing encouragement, support, ideas, advice and so on.
What do you reckon? I have a blog where I'm intending to start posting stuff I write and I've just put up a short story I've just finished. I hope to get more stuff up soon, including another short story I'm working on at the moment. You can find it at jimmywriting.blogspot.com

If anyone wants to read a German 15-page story... just tell me 😛

I'd be very interested. I've just lost six months worth of ideas and writings from my computer at home. I'm so annoyed with myself, because I stupidly didn't back anything up. 😳. Oh well, lesson learned, experience gained.
It depends what kind of genre you are looking into writing on whether or not I can help. I'm mainly into writing sci-fi / horror, although I do have a few paragraphs about drug-culture and the like.
I am heavily into reading as well, and read books from all areas, so I would be happy to express an opinion on anything you send me.

SO, if you were to take your computer to a recovery person, he/she could recover most of your text. The longer you wait though, the more the text will be overwritten by new files. So there is a sense of urgency.
Conversely, if you just got ahold of an ascii viewer that views sectors, you could see the text within the sectors.
Hi Jimmy,
i've had a look at what you wrote, and will comment via PM a bit later. in the meantime, you might like to check out www.critters.org, which specialises in SF/fantasy/horror critiques. it is run by a vice-prez of the SFWA, and basically the deal is that you crit other people's work, and they crit yuors in exchange. i've used it quite a bit, it is a great concept, and you almost always get useful feedback. and of course, it's FREE, as you also contribute crits.
best
David

I cannot write more than a few coherent sentences, however I can code, and this project interests me.
If a few people who can write stories are interested, I will set up a web site to host them. Anyone who's interested can PM me for details.
EDIT: Oh, and Angie88, home language is fine too (German is it not?).
EDIT AGAIN: Sci-Fi is my genre of choice BTW...

If you delete a file, the entry for the file is 'overwritten' in the file allocation table. These files can be retrieved very easily.
Hard drive crashes are not that simple. If you have mechanical failure the 'disks' can be physically damaged meaning you can lose most, if not all, of your data.
BTW I'm still busy putting together RedHotPlus.com. I have lots of contract work going on, so I'm quite busy, but once I get it going, you guys can use the site for this purpose, if you want 😛
