I found that prior to fatherhood I had no use for black jelly beans. After several patriarchal years of screening bags of jelly beans, I have acquired a taste for them.

I'm not a dad - but after a childhood of rejecting black jelly beans I acquired the taste - to the point of buying bags of "only black" beans. Perhaps it's an indicator of adulthood!

I always liked liquorice. For jelly beans I like Jelly Belly jalapeno flavored.

It's much simpler to invest in liquorice. Then you need not choose.
Liquorice is the aged advanced taste, acquired and to match teeth colour! 😞😞

Ice - you beat me! 😉

I still hate those black jelly beans. I spit on them.

Anyone remember Choo-Choo bars? Like a giant Mars-bar sized liquorice block - maybe that's why my teeth are ruined ...

Won't eat them...or any black licorice...which is weird since i do like jagermeister.

I think the first sign of getting older is not that...but dark chocolate...I still can't eat that crap. I am sure one day though I will be munching the Hershey's Special Dark ex-lax.

Don't forget Good n Plenty, and those little multi colored pieces of "plastic" liquorice tubing. They are kinda chewy and tough but have a great flavour. 😏

Yes, but licorice > anise, which is what most licorice-flavored candies are flavored with today, at least in the US.

Yeah, but it's just not Spanish any more, is it?

I used to like the liquorice sticks like twigs... Do they still sell them anywhere?
