Would it be like 'swearing in the church' to say, I don't like his music very much?

Not if you whisper it.

If you don't, then it would be truthful to say so.

Hell, when Robin Williams killed himself I was not suddenly in
love with his movies and started tearing about how so funny he
was --which I don't think so.

It just sickens me, this dead celebrity adoration culture, that the West
has spewed all over. The sentimentalism of the English (and when I say
English I mean English and Americans as they're no different),
regurgitated through mass media, films, etc. cheapens everything.

Just for the record: IMO Bowie sucked in the 80's and 90's. 70's was
pure genius and the last two records were the only worthy stuff made in
pop music.

"We" all have "our" preferences right?

Nah, it is very likely that they're shaped by the big machine of
consumerism, so they're not really "ours" and there is no such thing
as "we". Tatcher said it.

You're outlook on pretty much everything is...well, sad really.

Existence is sad. Those who don't see it have been already swallowed by the machine.

Existence is beautiful. (So Is Bowie's music).

The sadness perhaps is in not recognising this.
