I don't think so. Though it would have benefits in terms of preperation and coming to terms, It would probably send me a bit crazy. It would be very strange. I suppose if I was older and had a family I might think differently, but currently, no.
Yes! It would give me a chance to get my things in order, so to speak. I could get rid of the things that I currently need but wouldn't later, thus not burdening my relatives with a bunch of stuff that means nothing to them. I'd wild release all of my books or send them to other bookcrossers. I'd find my cat a nice home. There are lots of things I'd only do in the last stages of life if I know about it ahead of time!

I like the idea of not knowing, which is why I never go to doctors - that way I will get a nice surprise when it does happen.
Although, having said that, if I knew for certain when I would die then I could go through the rest of my life with a sense of invincibility, knowing that I wouldnt die at those times no matter what risks I took.
Kind of like that film Big Fish.

A man new precisely when he was going to die, so he took all sorts of risks. He became a high-wire acrobat but didn't care about safety because he knew he wouldn't die until Date X, like when he was in his 60s or something. Then he fell and sustained an injury -- and was paralyzed from the neck down -- and knew he'd stay that way, bedridden and helpless (old book) for decades.
