That's like the other story of the man who made a deal with the devil or something (maybe it was one wish from a genie in a lamp, but I digress), so he said he wanted to live forever. So then he gets the bright idea to kill his ex-wife since they couldn't execute him for it. Then he gets life imprisonment. 🙂

Yeah, I think that was a story originally written by Richard Matheson in the 60's. He also did a lot of the Twilight Zone stories and some of the early TZ stories were loosely based on his previously published stories. He was a good journeyman author.
