I've finally managed to get Deuteros up and running, albeit without sound. Just needed a previous version of the emulator, that was all. Hooray! 😀😀😀😀🙂

I put the kick.rom in the WINAUE file whatever it's called and i got the work bench thingy with the hand on. Then i downloaded a game and put the .adf file in the virtual ROM drive. I then got Gar's game disk 13 but nothing else.

As for the self destruct cheat, I know you can switch off the self destruct in Methanoid bases when you have worked out the technology, is that it?

No. If the Methanoids capture one of your bases you can blow it up. Just set the self destruct going before you leave. However... if you set the self destruct going, leave it for a few seconds then turn it off, the Methanoids will have run away leaving you with your base intact.
Even once you've kicked them out of the solar system they attack you even more often.
Unfortunately, my laptop (which is the only PC I can get it to run on) has now packed up - keeps switching itself off, and I can only play around my friend's house. And since I can't save games, I am Deuterosless once more :'(
