Wilford Brimley on Family Guy -
"Hi, I'm Wilford Brimley and I have diabetes. It hurts me to pee and it causes me to be short with my family. I can't sleep at night. The other day I stubbed my toe and took it out on the dog. And two weeks ago I ran out of vanilla ice cream and struck my wife. Then I find out my wife has been dead for six years. Who th Ice, my friend was just diagnosed as well, be positive and live healthy. All will be good π

if it's type 2 and you are overweight, cut the fat, start eating right, exercise, and you migh even be okay depending on how bad it is. all excess tissue you have requires insulin, which forces your spleen to produce more than it can handle, so it kinda burns out. so that's why you need to get fit. the fun days of gluttony are over for you I'm afraid, unles ...[text shortened]... cially bad for diabetes. :-( and if you smoke, you just got another forcing reason to cut it.
My mom has type 1. It's scary, scary stuff.

well ice's spleen is still stupied!
Originally posted by wormwoodI'm guessing that they use spleen cells to replace dead pancreas cells. They can sometimes do that with other pancreas cells, but I guess if they're (spleen & pancreas cells) structure is similar, it could work.
