I just found this article in local newspappers about recent youtube clip submited by 17yr old, explicitly showing extremly violent killings while other victims watch and wait their turn next to some road. I won't go into details because I do not want to be forum banned or so. My day is ruined. Anybody saw the video in question ? What is wrong with this world ?
Originally posted by yo its meYes there is -- it is most often the children who have no consequences and whose parents spend the child's younger days claiming "my child wouldn't do that" or "it's none of your business what my child does." Those children become teens who have been taught that they have no rules. Similarly, I've seen kids who did things that call for automatic suspension or expulsion get either a slap on the hand or nothing because their parents donate a lot to the school or are noted members of the community. They gleefully traipse through life breaking rules (big ones) knowing that no one will stop them.
No I didn't see it but there's often stuff like that, I've heard of teachers being bullied and Utubed. It's a crazy crazy world, there is no explination.
Originally posted by pawnhandlerOkay there are some explinations. for certian things. I guess I was thinking more about the world in general. I've just been chatting to Sake about the state of the world, I was thinking of that I guess. Ya know, like if I tell my childern don't take a bite of the apple and throw the rest in the bin, someone grew it, picked that and packed it, then we bought it and every time you count to 5 a baby dies becasue they can't get any food...it dosen't make sense becasue this is a crazy crazy world.

I don't understand how a government can refuse to give their people food and other supplies when they have them. It's not just in Myanmar -- there have been lots of places where relief supplies are given but the ruling junta shoves it in a warehouse and refuses to feed their own people! I don't understand parents/relatives/teachers/clergy/babysitters/etc. hurting the children in their care, or using the children as pawns or weapons against another person -- especially those who harm the child to get back at the other parent!!

The expanded media coverage we have now is great on exposing the horrors of the world but not big on solutions.
Originally posted by pawnhandlerVery very true. It's not their job I guess. I guess they can't be objective if they get involved. Thing is it's our race that's killing it's self, slowly and without dignity. So they are involved, we all are. But all I do is watch, or latelly I don't even want to do that.

Originally posted by yo its meClockwork orange kind of thing, yeah? No matter where you look, you'll see it until you puke?

How depressing.
There is good things happening too. I think media should cover a little more of that. And I'm not talking about schlager, celebrity diets and such nonsense, but things like: Angola is going to have elections for their national assembly in September this year for the first time in at least 15 years. Also, their economy has improved drastically during the years after the civil wars ended (last I heard - please don't hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong). I do remember them being the fastest growing economy of the world in 2005 (or was it 06).
Oh, and also, I'm slowly going senile I think. That's good news too, 'cause I can't really remember all the headlines, and that lightens my mood a little. π
Oh! Oh! Oh! And kids bullying each other in Swedish schools (which has been a growing problem during the nineties and the first couple of years in the... what do you call 200+?.. π Senile, I tell ya... uhm.. what was I writing again?... Oh! Oh! Oh! Right! The bullying has lessened from kids wanting to commit suicide to just feeling an intense anxiety borderline wanting to commit suicide.
No wait. That's horrible! π
Never mind. π
