I recently tried employing the Albin counter gambit. I have had varying degrees of success with this, from totally annihilating my opponent with the Lasker trap to the complete opposite end of the spectrum and having my butt licked instead. I guess it all boils down to if your opponent is familiar with the opening or not.

I stopped doing '1. e4' a long time ago. I found it started getting boring. I find d4 creates more open attacking games on both sides.

I do not have the power to move threads. RHP does not trust me that much. Can you imagine it? Me after a few beers and mod powers. Ha!

Thanks! I'll try it. I have a very narrow repertoire and was looking for expand it to something a little more exciting.

And here's an epic fail against it even though I thought I knew what was going on. ANother sneaky trap: -

Game 8555352

It appears I made the move Nd2 prematurely. Moving your pawn to a3 instead halts the nasty knight advancing.
