Has anyone played this game? I recently bought it with some saved birthday money, and have been playing it religously (when I'm not *cough*studying*cough*).

Great Game but do you know if it multiplayer like LAN games or online? I only Play Online games and some really good games like GTA sa and other great games I might be boring you now so I will stop talk and hear what u got to say (I LOVE VIDEO GAMES)

I just beat DOOM 2 and am dying to play it! Can someone review the game on this thread to see if it is worth buying?

The Russ Review.

Old school shooter. But if you are going to play it, it is very important that you :

1)Play in the dark (As late as possible)
2)Use good speakers/ headphones with sound UP!
3)On a good spec machine.

If you don't do the above, you will not get the best out of it and may have a very different opinion of the game.

For me, it was an important evolution in video games, the only video game I have ever played where I was uncomfortably nervous at times.

Oh, and online stinks - so don't bother for that.

The tension really conveys what Doom should have been like the first time, even though they couldn't do it.

For good lighting and visuals, you will need...
At least a 1.8Ghz
512 MB RAM
128 MB Video Card.

My RAM is only 512, so it can run a bit slow, but other than that...freaky shizit. I totally agree with Mr Code Monkey (Russ), in that headphones and no lights help infinatly. Or not, depending on wether you like getting the living crap scared out of you.

Best part so far...the first encounter with the Pinky Demon (some hybrid dog/cyborg). That was a ways ago, but it was fun.

I started playing the game a couple of months ago... but I regret to say that I lost interest after about an hour. Maybe it's just me. I realize that I don't get the same pleasure out of these games that I used to. 🙁

I agree with arrakis that it was a little slow to start, but once all hell broke loose, jeez did it ever break loose!

Great game in terms of tension, the first game I have played since Alien vs Predator (playing as the marine only), which truly upset me heart rate. Creepy, intense and down right hard to stay still in front of. My girlfriend laughed her head off as I jerked back and to the side as monsters leapt out from nowhere. I had to keep readjusting my keyboard and mouse every five minutes.
