stab in the back?
My other game, where I played the Dwarves, I was definitely stabbed in the back. I made the mistake of believing what a neighboring realm told me and paid heavily for my folly. Sound familiar?
If we start the game immediately, we're likely to play an unbalanced game. There are known imbalances that are going to be fixed; for example, the Drow and Pirates are supposedly very strong and are going to be adjusted in the new version. There will also be a different, bigger map I believe. Then there are the Gnomes, which from what I'm hearing have simply been disabled while still seeming to be available - something that will no doubt annoy somebody who captures their territory. And if they are not disabled, then they'll overrun everyone.
Do we still want to start immediately? I don't care either way.

If the Gnomes are unavailable then at least everyone has been warned about the possibility. They conquer that territory at their own risk.

I hope I'll get the disabled gnomes. 😉

I will admit that the Golden Horde has been a lot of fun in MD, though.

Originally posted by AThousandYoungI'll be away from Tuesday to Sunday (quite likely I'll have some internet access, but I am not sure). So in theory it should work out. But I doubt I'll have the time to read all the rules and figure out how this whole thing works, so quite likely I wouldn't be able to do anything on the first move.
Nordlys, when exactly will you be unavailable? All you need at minimum is 15 minutes with a computer with internet access once a week. You would need to be able to download the Diploware though. If we started immediately, would you miss the first turn or two entirely?
Originally posted by NordlysOnce I see your position I'll recommend some basic common sense moves so you don't do anything too foolish before you have a chance to study the game.
