As far as i can remember they charge up over night and let the heat out during the daytime. So you have to watch the weather for the following day so as to work out what settings you`re going to use, i.e if it`s going to be pretty mild turn the setting down a bit so when you get in from work you still have some heat energy left.

I already know the basic principal, but I kind of need some specifics.
Basically, I don't have a timer, so I'm not sure how to get it to heat up, only at night. I have 3 dials on the heater, Input Boost, Room temp Boost, and a dial with no name, but with markings from 1-7. I also have a switch on the heater with a white circle as one choice, and a black circle as the other. I have 2 mains switches on the wall, and a dial on the wall saying 'Room Temp Boost control', which can be set from Less heat to more heat.
Seems nuts to be so complicated.

chuck it in the bucket and get yourself a proper heater that heats up when you turn it on (when youre cold) and not the day after.
i used to have one - hated every minute of it, although it had a
radiator-bit that heated up "immediately"
maybe one of your unmarked dials is a radiator bit too?
