If by world music you mean the homogeneous pop dross that sounds the same (albeit accentuated with some damn banjo or other) irrespective of what continent it originates from, then I agree. Otherwise, you should listen some gamelan, fado, Indian classical music, West African ceremonial music etc. etc.
