All the people on TV seem to think England will want to avoid Germany. WHY? Germany have improved duaring the World cup, but they are hardly the Germany of old. After conceeding 2 goals to Costa Rica, yes, Costa Rica!!, you have to feel they are an easy touch. Who conceeds 2 goals to Costa Rica? I want England to play Germany, NOT Equador. Equador have thrown this game, resting 5 players. At full strength they could beat Germany i feel.
EDIT: Ok, that 3rd goal was rather special. Perhaps England would fair better against Equador. ๐

England hasn't won over Sweden in 38 years. What makes you think they will tonight? I think 1-0 Sweden. ๐
Originally posted by stockenDuring the germany - ecuador match all the commentators were going on and on about how england would be meeting ecuador in the next round because germany were winning the game comfortably, very annoying when you consider that england have not beaten sweden in my lifetime and i am nearly 40, a little presumptious i feel. While as an englishman i will be disappointed if we do not beat sweden i will not be too surprised either, If you gamble bet on sweden because the odds on england will be drastically deflated by the blind optimism of the english, Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooooooo!
And good luck to England. ๐
I'm sure it'll be an exciting and fun game no matter the winner.
