What a pleasant outlook π
You may aswell just say England have no-chance!

We have a decent second round draw in comparison so we should get to the quaters at least

What bet on going out 4-3 on penalties to Portugal?

Yes, you are right. I was mistaken the number of games total (64) for the number of competitors, making 32 in round two. Silly me.
I feel sorry for Michael Owen. After fighting back from injury this season, he must be devastated to go off after only one minute. I hope that it isn't as bad as it looked - if he is out of the tournament it only leaves us 3 strikers, and one of them was Sven's wild card.
Thank goodness for Joe Cole!
Will we miss Owen? Without a doubt yes. Okay he's not done much in the other 2 games, but now our only other striker is Walcott. Either Sven has made a huge mistake in not getting him involved already in the games (putting him in untested against Argentina? yeah nice one Sven), or he plans not to use him at all (therefore the mistake is taking him in the first place).

With Owen possibly out the need for an established striker has never been greater. Crouch just doesn't make the grade and Rooney is well short of 100%.
We've had it!
