Watching Engerlund is a waste of anyone's life. After seeing Mexico and Argentina play like that, how do you sleep at night?
And then you don't even complain about a cruddy sneaked victory off a free kick (how else, open play? pah) that never was from a player who can not run anymore, but can stick in boringly accurate crosses, sneaks one inside the near post, just, which the keeper should have saved.
What else did England do? That was such a poor display, against a non-team, and you still harp on about winning the tournament?
Actually, on Irish T.V., they cut over to the English channel to show Crookes interviewing Sven... 'The system worked then. You must be happy?' 'Ja, the eh system eh worked eh...'
Cuts back to Dunphy on Irish TV: 'That's pretty impressive. I never thought I'd see the day where two men were to be shown having sex on the BBC before the watershed'.

Its amazing - as a nation the Irish spend all season supporting Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, etc, paying your subscriptions to Sky Sports to fund the Premier League, paying for your Premier League replica shirts... but can't stand the fact that the England team is doing well. It's not sour grapes (you misunderstand what that term means, by the way). If you were any good, then why would I not want you to win as a neutral?
Fact is: 1) You're rubbish
2) You're not doing well. Wake up! Once you face a decent team, you're heading home. And you should be annoyed, because there's so much money in football in England, and so much support and a huge player base. And you're rubbish. Terrible bloody stuff you play. Don't kid yourselves any longer. You are atrocious.
3) you're all on a different planet, so you are oblivious to this. Seriously. Very sad.

1) Why should we be supporting you? You seem to have an attitude suggesting you think we're still part of a certain Union, which we are not anymore.
I understand that you might support us as neighbours and underdogs when we do occasionally qualify, but you seem to have a mentality that suggests you think Ireland is really a slightly disloyal part of the UK.
2) Why would we as football fans not support a team that plays good football? That's not England so far, and doesn't look like becoming England any time soon.
3) Historically speaking, there are quite a few countries we might traditionally support before England, anyway. Why does that bother you?
4) I could support you if your press and fans weren't so bloody annoying. Fact is, they are intolerable. Do you not see that?

Not that I'm bothered, but these are not facts.
1) Rubbish performance, or rubbish results? There are plenty of, presumably, better teams who haven't made it to the WC, never mind the QFs, and they have a consistent record of QFs, which seems OK.
2) "Once you face a decent team" - the number of times I heard this about the England cricket team after beating WI and NZ - SA will put you in your place, but we beat them, so it was "oh, they aren't as good as they were, Aus will put you in your place". We showed them, too (of course it was a fluke...π).
3) Not everybody thinks they're great. In fact, take a look at the news - they are getting a right slating. So - it seems no-one is on a different planet.

Rubbish performance, I'd say. As Johnny Giles put it last night when asked if he were surprised at this performance:
'Not at all. When was the last time you remember England actually playing well?'
There are alot of players who have been big names in the Premiership, and cannot step up to international level. That doesn't reflect well on your league, I'd say.
And I hope what you say is true about the press. In any other footballing country where expectations are high, the team would have been slated already.
Less talk of the hot conditions (who would have thought the WC would be played in summer anyway) and how the darkies fair better, less whining about the ref. More wondering where you found that Swede, how he conned you into firing him in order to gain more cash, and how he's taking the p1ss.
And you can't really complain about the Irish too mush, your best players last night were young Lennon (Irish name- never seen or heard of him before, but he looks a talent), and Wayne Rooney (110% Irish tinker- sorry about the rest of them, but at least he's a talent).

Fact 2) Re-read Fact 1
Now I shall be off to shave my head, get a tattoo with the word Mum in a heart, throw a bottle of Stella at a passing German family and sing God save our sexy queen.
That should educate me and open my mind. Let's face it, you're famous for those qualities over your way. You must be very proud of yourselves.
