hehehe 🙂
Are you suggesting that most people decide who to support based on the political and religious state of the country in question? You might, my friend but that's why I suggested you are showing bigotry.
Actually, Norway has been been conquered by the Swedes and overrun on more than one occasion. Sweden, surprisingly, has behaved in a not dissi glish supporters, the crazy press, politics, religion or some bizarre latent victim mentality.
Do try and keep up- my point was not 'I hope England lose because those 800 years of war'. That's nothing to do with anything. My point was England are not playing well. Is that so unfair? Other point was any unpopularity internationally is not due to history, but rather modern attitudes seen in the English press and yobbish fans (no, not all, but a not insignificant number, shall we say). Your reading of the matter shows very little insight into history, psychology or anything. You'd be better off sucking on a Fisherman's friend and having a sauna, then a dip in an icy pool, then a wee bit of fishing over an icy fjord, then having the last Fisherman's friend in the packet and going to bed with your large-boned wife than speculating on these matters.

You keep changing the reason why you want England to lose yet want them to lose with such passion.
You suggest Norwegians and Swedes support England because they also are a protestant monarchy which is a bizarre statement if you feel your own lack of support has nothing to do with politics or religion.
You think the rest of the world also want England to lose because of the fans when this plainly isn't the case outside the "home" countries. Some people do and some don't, same as they do with say, the Netherlands (oops too late).
You see my point? Given your passion for England to lose and lack of passion for say, France to lose your claim that there is not some irrational "gut" wish to see England do badly lacks some punch.
Personally, during the match with Ecuador I found myself not giving a damn who won any more so can understand people thinking England have been lucky but if they actually go on to win (which they wont) why would that upset you? It's not for the glory of footy really is it. You want England to lose at any sport so why pretend it's something else.
I don't think I've seen fisherman's friends over here, sauna's are a Finnish thing, not a Norwegian or Swedish thing (despite popular belief in the UK and Ireland) though fishing over icy fjords is a rather popular pastime here though not my personal cup of tea. You should pop over for a visit if you think the Weegies are large boned. I'll take you out for an evening for a few beers and a chat with some of the local ladies and we'll see if you don't go home weeping!
It's a tough place to live and work (particularly in the summer) but someone has to do it 🙂
