England are cr@p. Have been for a very long time too. And will be for a while to come.

People were generally pleased when McClaren got the job - the consensus being 'that at least he's English'... and I thought getting El Tel in as right-hand man was a masterstroke. (Venables would've been my 1st choice for the job.)

1 draw and 1 defeat later ...[text shortened]... aggon... give the bloke a chance - we persevered with a character bypass Swede for years!
I always thought he would be crap. I'm just being consistent.

Same goes for Scolari, for that matter.

Who's we?

When the rumour was out there was a thread here with many opinions for and against him.

'We' = most English fans... well certainly the ones I speak to.

I think FIFA should bring a ruling in regarding Managers having to be born in the country they manage - same goes for players... bloody Da Silva is a Brazilian yet scores for Croatia...

England played crap in that game and a few more besides but to say they are crap is a bit much don't you think? If we apply that logic to what sports you play, I would ask do you often make it to the world 1/4 final stage? and also your work (or if still in education apply the same principle) could you honestly say that in your field you would make it to the last 8 in the world, if not then by your own standards that means you are crap at everything you do surely? Which of course would not be true and demonstrates you cannot make such statements with any validity. Does that mean Micheal Adams is crap at chess because he didn't do too well at San Luis, Argentina last year. Indeed everyone on this site must be crap at chess then, using your logic. Your extremely high standards mean that only world champions and runners up are worthy and everyone else is 'crap' but where does that leave town/tournament/county/state/continent champions are they crap too because they cannot win a world championship?

I seem to remember Australia beating England 3-1 in football last time we played?

The Ashes will be back where they belong soon enough.

Which would be a bit strange as they never actually live anywhere else but in England at the MCC (Lords Cricket Ground).
You guys only get the right to say that you have won them...we actually get to keep them!!!!

I have merely answered your assertion using logic, I don't feel any need to lighten up, I'm quite relaxed thanks, sorry if I don't respond to any answer quickly but as game 12 (Kramnik v Topolov of course) is on that is where my attention is

I was hoping for more banter from you Brits. But your post was too clever for me. I admit intellectual defeat... But proclaim sporting dominance. He he
