I was hoping for more banter from you Brits. But your post was too clever for me. I admit intellectual defeat... But proclaim sporting dominance. He he
I'm sure you will get a lot of people to bite later but most are at work right now and it's hard enough to keep an eye on the world championship match, do your job and post in the forum

The very fact that you 'think' you know this just goes to show what an achievement it is... I can't remember who we beat from one year to the next.

Northern Ireland beat us last year and the people in Northern Ireland will be talking about beating us for the next 25 years... Aussie football is in that bracket.

You certainly seem to be getting beaten by alot of teams lately... You should probably get used to it.

I think you'll find we've lost one game out of the last 15... (not including penalty shoot-outs)

It never ceases to amaze me how fickle football fans can be (and I'm as guilty as the next man!)

People were generally pleased when McClaren got the job - the consensus being 'that at least he's English'... and I thought getting El Tel in as right-hand man was a masterstroke. (Venables would've been my 1st choice for the job.)

1 draw and 1 defeat later ...[text shortened]... aggon... give the bloke a chance - we persevered with a character bypass Swede for years!
It's a bummer though that bad managers win you nothing, and good managers leave when they do. Italy missing Lippi for example. Aime Jacquet quit when France won the WC in 1998 (although they won Euro 2000 too), and Scolari quit Brazil in 2002.
