How do I stop it?
First time I looked at 'where have you lived', 'life events' etc.
I clicked next, and it came up with a strip of my last taken pictures, of my home. WTF!
This is a complete invasion of privacy, is it not, or is it what you get for being a member of Facebook?
If it's the latter........ I'm suing, as they never TOLD ME! 😛

How else would they know who you are,
where you live and where you have been?

Why don't you try the same yourself, before adding codswallop?

I'm not as dumb as you make me out to be.
There is no information there about me
because I have not supplied such information.
All the information I have supplied is
name, date of birth, an e mail address
and the fact that I have 2 daughters
both of which have their own facebook pages.
I have not put my life story on facebook
like a lot of other people do.
Some people treat it like twitter and record
every waking moment of their day.
Are you among that category?

Edit: yes they appear as an option to add, and of course we would not. What I am saying is that FACEBOOOK has access to your photos!!
I have down as my home town BALLYFERMOT DUBLIN.
They have a picture of the community centre in Ballyfermot
and some other places of general interest.
They then show pictures of people I may know.
I assume these are other people with links to facebook
but I don't know any of them.
If it was a small rural town with a very small population
then it is quite possible that I might know some of them.
But it isn't and I don't. But it is possible this is what has happened to you.
Either that or you supplied more information than you intended to do.
There is nothing there of any consequence to me, only general information
about my home town. Nothing specific or sinister.

Originally posted by mikelomCan't say I'm surprised. I don't consider Facebook harmless. It's not difficult for them to get a bot to crawl through your hard drive looking for .jpg files. Of course they're not going to ask your permission. The site was created for a generation which doesn't even know that privacy ever existed.

I was looking at facebook 'my map' and was wondering if to add a few places I hace been to. So in the 'add location' window, I added Michigan - and all of a sudden a strip of pictures appeared at the top of the map, asking where these had been taken and when, and did I want to add them. Nothing to do with Michigan at all. They were the pics I added last week - not added to facebook, but added to my PRIVATE folder.
I have decent security too, and it flagged nothing when these appeared.
I really believe facebook is getting into a lot of peoples personal files!!!

Have another beer, helps with the hangover! 😛
