I just registered last night. Learned the moves a couple of weeks ago, and have been studying the game ever since. I've never played a single game of chess anywhere at anytime with anybody. If I gather the nerve to start a game here, I might end up on the wrong end of a new record for the shortest game.

heh heh dont worry...just keep f7 (or f2) square guarded and you surely will last more than 4 moves. Maybe even 10 if you are lucky enough...

fool's mate is the fastest. it is for three moves. The opponet opens with their bishop and knight pawns while you open with you king's pawn and then move out the bishop. The opponet will be pinned in. It is shorter than the four move sholar's mate.

There are 4 games ending in only two moves!

Thanks for the advice. I started playing two games against a player with a rating of 1100. I have a material advantage in one of the games, but am not doing too well in the other game. Since I'm not getting killed, I'm getting over my case of nerves.

I find that hard to believe, judging by your play in this game. Are you sure you're not a blueshark? ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm also surprised by my play in game 1022313. It's the first actual game I've ever played. I spent a long time contemplating each move and, at one point, caught a real break, discovering a series of moves that allowed me to win a rook. However, now I'm feeling lost in the game. I'm obviously ahead, but I feel disorganized. I don't have a feel for what I'm supposed to do next.

What is a blueshark? Is it somebody who pretends to be a new player, but isn't?

I've truly never played a game before, but I've spent many long hoursk over the past few weeks, studying chess, including playing through hundreds of member games, trying to guess the best next move. I wanted to get a feel for the game before actually playing.

My shortest mate was against an A player in just 9 moves! (although he's not an A player now).

I second this thought. The chances of you playing like this after never playing before. And just recently started studying are astonomical.

Either you have played before or your name starts with an F and ends with a Z.
