For those of us in the northern hemisphere, summer weather is upon us, or nearly so. What are some of your childhood summer memories?
From fourth through 6th grade, I lived in a housing development that had a small lake. One end was for fishing for sunnies and the occasional catfish. We swam at the other end. The mark of being a "big kid" was to be able to swim out to the raft. When I finally managed to do that, I realized that it was even more crucial to be able to swim all the way back again!

Playing in the woods.
Listening to the birds (red-winged blackbirds and robins).
Playing in the creek and cracking open those clam things and thinking I was going to find a pearl.
Looking for 4 leaf clovers.
We didn't have any neighbors.
