My age makes some difference in your estimation of my sanity? I think it doesn't matter, you think everyone is insane except your own narcississtic self.

The only Latin American country which wasn't steamrolled by
the CIA during the heyday of the empire. Oh boy, did it hurt to the
gringo pigs to lose their Caribbean brothel to the glorious revolution.
Now it will be over, but Cuban resistance will be up there, in golden
letters, next to the brave Vietnamese people who defeated the
cursed ones.
Too bad he picked Communism as his ideological political system of record.
Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory !!

He did not "pick". Cubans had to make a choice since the gringos
wanted to quash their newly gained independence. You have never
been to Cuba, have you? Their character can't be more far from what
Communism embodies. Yet they did what they had to do to survive.
Like Israel, in a way, which has had to play the gringos for half a century
to survive.

Luckily, bully empires are manned by thugs, not geniuses.

There was a historical note I tread recently that Castro's main passion was to free Cuba from American influence. Good for him !!
He wasn't initially committed to Communism at first.

He didn't actually embrace Communism till 1965 when he turned to USSR for aid after US sanctions were imposed.

No serious Latin American fighter, other than the nutcases of Shinning
Path, has ever embraced communism other than to try to balance the
poisonous meddling of the U.S.; you know, to use it as a negotiation
wedge. Of course, the Russians are as toxic as the gringos, so they're
no good option either.
