Most websites have their own icon that is shown when you save a link to the site on your desktop or in a folder.

When I used IE this link was displayed without a problem. However, when I switched to firefox I noticed the individual icon for the site shortcuts are all replaced with the firefox icon.

Is there a setting in firefox somewhere that will allow the individual icons, or am I stuck with the same firefox icon for all of my website shortcut links?

Thanks!

Right click on the shortcut, then properties, Web Document, and click change Icon and browse. You'll need to generate the icons yourself, but it's a solution.

I'm not sure why you'd want to have the shortcuts on your desktop rather than on the Bookmarks Folder Toolbar. Yesterday, I downloaded the UI Tweak addon and got rid of the text from the shortcuts, so that the favicon only is showing, so I can fit more in there.

Another plus for UI Tweak is that you can put the tab bar to the bottom. This might help new FF users who are used to looking for things at the bottom of the screen.
