Battlefield is good, but honestly, why do you want realism when you can drop cars on zombies in Half Life 2???? Just get Half Life 2, and like Galaxy said, counterstrike, which comes with it, is great too, and more realistic.

It's not bad, pretty good actually, but a bit*ch to install because of the Valve anti-piracy installation to run it. Took me about four hours which seems average. I played it through once and haven't bothered since, but some way cool weapons.

Nah, I tried the demo and while the graphics are good, it's no different to Doom 1 and 2 and all the variants which I got bored with years ago.

It all depends on what blows your hair back or floats your boat etc. I still think Max Payne 2 is great, especially bullet-time. It's just too short, though. Of course, GTA: San Andreas rules but it's not a FP shooter although it's got elements of that. But - it's a huge game that will give you full value for your money. I've played about 80 hours and still only done 84%

Be warned though. As class a Battlefield 2 is, you need XP to play it. The multiplayer version (ie: the main part of the game) doesn't work on my 2000 machine, and tech support say its because of 2000.

I was looking at the spec for BF2, and relised I couldn't play it. I don't have a DVD-Rom. I've tried counterstrike but didn't like it. maybe I'll just see if I can't find a copy of Joint OPerations:Typhoon Thinder.

If you're looking for online fun (with decent graphics) I recommend Unreal Tournament (the original one). I sometimes still play it.

Since I got my new PC with my NVidia Ge Force 6800 Ultra 🙂 I've been replaying Doom 3 and it is scaring the atheism out of me more than the first time it. I also have an Audigy pro4 soundcard which makes ever single thing as creepy sounding as possible. I can't play it before I go to bed because my heart rate goes up too much for me to sleep.

F.E.A.R. is going to blow the socks off Doom 3. Scariest freaking game I've ever seen, the first time I played the demo I had to quit after about 20 minutes because I couldn't take it anymore.

I started playing it but must be doing something wrong. I'm wandering down in the dungeons and not much action is happening.
