Forum Improvement Suggestion Box

Every member/subscriber poster has a vested personal interest in the quality of this site's public forums. Seems few if any would willfully or knowingly behave in a manner which would succeed in devaluing them. One simple suggestion I'd like to make relates to thoughtfulness. Wouldn't we always be moving in a positive direction... if all posters (whether old guard elite or greenhorn noobies or some status inbetween) put half as much care, creativity and thought into our daily posts and threads as we put into our daily chess moves? Just an idea which, I'm realist enough to accept, may already be stillborn. Your ideas?

both you and VR have your posting rights removed.
ahh, imagine with what vastness the intelligibility of the forum would improve!

Edit: That reminds me. THREAD CLOSED.

Another suggestion... never post on an empty stomach or in an inebriated state.

False premise - some have no interest and others have interests that conflict with yours. Quality is a subjective term.

Again, this just isn't true. Both in relation to those that come here and spam the place, and in relation to the conflicting interests and appreciations of what devaluing means.

I for one would be moving backwards, as I care less for my chess ability than I do for this month's Hello magazine.

you take the forum way too seriously. and i don't get how you can talk about thoughtfulness when you constantly seem to create threads with little or no thought. i guess you're idea of a perfect forum would be 30 Grampy threads on page one, all populated by the fawning responses of a few sycophants.

Reduce VR and you to a maximum of 5 posts per day and one thread per week.

Starrman, in your haste you neglected to mention your proposed "restricted post/thread criteria" that would in fairness,

also, apply to all other RHP Member/Subscriber posters so as to avoid even the appearance of legal double standard.

Generally, no. Long weekends, yes.

I know! I know! More acerbic and scathing posts which would (hopefully) inspire unbridled bitterness and a complete loss of decorum, resulting in a meltdown of biblical proportions within the psyche of every person who was unfortunate enough to have participated in the mêlée?

Am I close?
