Fragile Male Ego

Shocking story, just heard how a man held a female under the water in a swimming pool by her feet after she had repeatedly overtaken him during lane swimming.

Having been a regular swimmer in the past I’ve been subjected to aggressive male swimmers in pools who thunder down lanes with every intention of hitting you as they pass.

well its not me drew my missus can out swim me, al I can do is the crawl she is (sorry was) a real pro could even do the buterfly.

In the culture in which I live, I find that the norms dictating the 'ideal' way for women to conduct themselves, effectively imposed by men, but with the endorsement and cooperation of many women too, are very often rooted in accommodating the "fragile male ego".

Men with fragile egos are...not men.

Yeah, I don't get that. I've always had a thing for tomboys or athletic women. See my "women who could kick your ass" thread.

Driving etiquette as well. Surprising what women drivers describe, relative to what you experience as a man. I get the impression a lot of 'men' find it easier to gesticulate at women than at other men.

Agree with your statement about the fears of aggressive male drivers.

I thought Queen's Gambit did address sexism in the early stages of the hero's playing career, but I would agree it was minimised and portrayed as melting away as she showed her ability, where you could easily imagine pockets of increased virulence as that ability was resented/envied.

What do you think the transgender woman who was a former U.S. Navy Seal would have done about the fragile male ego of the now-banned misogynist and pornographer Stella?

If she did, she stole that from Savielly Tartakower.

Typical, isn't it?
