The wise woman was a blackadder quote as your humour/answer to the poster of this thread pointed out the obvious in a similar way. It went something like this:

Old hag: There are 2 things you should know about the wise woman, she is wise and....
Blackadder: and she's a woman?
Old hag: Oh you know her?

Deep Fried Mars Bar is very good.

The Beech Tree Inn, in Dumgoyne (north of Glasgow) does a very nice one, served with an orange sorbet (to cut through the stickiness).

blackadder is one of the funniest shows i've ever seen. i'm thinking of picking up the boxed set of all four seasons. been a while since i've seen it though.
