I am horribly late with the garden this year. Just got back from the greenhouse buying started plants....I have been soo lazy this year. I spent a fortune on the stated plants in lieu of getting off my arse and pre-planting. Anyway is there anyone else who is late in the ground this year? I am in Minnesota and Memorial weekend is usually the time I get the plants in the ground.

Plants purchased.

30 big beef tomato
6 cherry tomato
6 grape tomato
6 Roma tomato
6 bell pepper
6 red pepper
6 yellow pepper
12 jalapeños
2 acorn squash

Have not bought the herbs for the deck garden yet.

That's quite a collection you've got there. Do you sell the fruits and vegetables that sprout?

Gardening seems like a healthy hobby.

Particularly when seen in light of last night's meal of: (1) small bag of Fritos corn chips, (2) can of sardines in oil, and (3) bottle of blue Gatorade.

I've found that the traditional green gatorade compliments fish better than the blue...

Our back garden isn't big enough to grow anything really, but my grand parents used to grow all sorts. Potatoes, peas, tomatoes, radishes, turnips and loganberries. My gran made gallons of wine out of these.
I myself tried growing cannabis plants in my wardrobe once, but they all died off.

Hey Kirk,
I have to ask, why so many yellow squash? I've found that 3 plants supplies all the yellow squash the 3 of us can eat and some leftover to give away! I've yet to find a way to preserve them, that I find satisfactory. Do you preserve yours?
Regards,
Charlie

Obviously a true Gatorade connoisseur. 😵

My bottle was only 2005 vintage, but it had a fine bouquet nonetheless.

Just planting out my sunflowers. My garden is too small and too concrete to grow fruit and veg.

Currently tending it as a butterfly / bee attracting container garden with room for bbq's. Sunflowers just going in to see how high I can grow 'em!
