Germany can't be beaten at penalty shoot outs, it's a scientific fact.
Well said...Argentina had a chance .....no one beats the Germans at penalty shoot outs..

I am very disgusted with Argentina. This means Germany will be in the finals as the winner of the next game really doesn't matter both would lose in the semis. Germany vs Italy and England vs Brasil. Germany vs Brasil in the finals. Yes I know where I am from but I am wise enough to know that unless France upsets Brasil, no way we make it to the finals. Now should France surprise me England beats France easily and finals are Germany vs England in which England wins of course.

And penalties suck. Teams should play until someone scores.
The ref and a linesman should simultaneously kick footballs in the two captains' groins. The team whose captain gets off the floor the quickest wins!

Thanks for a good laugh. Still very angry about Argentina being out.

Playing until someone scores would be interesting. It would come down to which team is the most fit. I think we would have some loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong matches though, and with only 3 subs, any team that got involved in such a match would be finished for their next game if they managed to win.

Smaug of Sicilian Origin,

I cannot verify that Thomas Jefferson ever accurately predicted the outcome of a World Cup quarterfinal, but I strongly suspect he did. After all, we're talking about Jefferson! However...mmmff. Have to beat traffic. Well done Ess Ess, to all others: GO ENGLAND!!!!!
He may not have predicted the outcome of a World Cup quarterfinal but he did have a kid with his like 13 year old slave girl. Yes....what a great man he was.
