It's not the World Cup without Scotland. Who else would we watch losing to Costa Rica?
Of course, the Scots hold a special place in every Kiwi's heart. Allowing us to score our only World Cup goals ever in 1982. That's two more than Australia have ever managed! A bit sad that they missed out on qualifying for the second phase to Russia on goal difference that year,
but we DID let them score five for Gawd's Sake. Defence never the strong point.
Brilliant win against Holland in 1978, let us not forget. If Scotland could have played like that all the way through they probably would've won the thing. Alas, they'll just have to settle for constantly winning the "Best Fans" award. And they must be, with what they've had to swallow over the years, 😛.
