Is hunting considered a sport? If so, I nominate Dick Cheney.

Greatest Champions League final ever. πŸ™‚
Even if it was a spectacular final I'd go for BayernMunchen-ManchesterUtd 1-2.

Before you ask, no, I'm not a Milan fan.

Not to push any Englishman's buttons, but Maradona's goal in Mexico '82 when he ran the length of the field with the ball never more than a foot away, dancing through the English midlfield and then defense before sliding it past the goalkeeper. Of course, he'd ruin his career an hour later, but that goal was pure joy.

Come to think of it - Geoff Hurst's lightning bolt in the '66 final. Surely across. πŸ˜‰
You'd better stick watching some crappy american sport, sicko.

The goal you're talking about was in Mexico '86.

And an hour later he did nothing.............if you're referring to the Hand Of God, he scored it before the other fantastic goal.

Ok... you know the tune 'London bridge is falling down'? Well:

Who put the ball in the English net?
English net...
English net...
Who put the ball in the English net?
Super-Ray-Houghton!

European Cup Finals, Stuttgart, 1988,

Republic of Ireland 1 - England 0 !

... When the nation realised we all really liked soccer quite alot. πŸ˜€

Well, he was Irish by blood, Scottish by birth, actually. But then we tend to get on well- a lot of shared history over the last couple of millennia. However, I think it's safe to say the cheers went up from Dublin to Dundee, and from Glasgow to Galway Bay. Same as they did when Scotland won in Wembley in 1967, I suppose.

Maradona the legend.

Candidate for best individual goal of all time.

1st goal-

Candidate for wittiest post match player's comment

Diego:

'It was by the hand of God that Argentina should win'

translation #1: God favoured the Argentine cause over the English;

translation #2: The hand was that of footballing God, Diego.
