1999 FA Cup Semi Final between Arsenal and Manchester United.

The game had everything, great shots, great goalkeeping, sendings off, penalty saves in injury time, AND the greatest goal every scored, never mind the fact it was after about 2 hours of football and for the team with only 10 men.

True FOOTBALL!

Ah... the good old N.F.C.. I like the Arkansas 57ers this year. They are much better than the New Luton Water Buffalo in my book, and tonnes quicker than Jacksonville Rattle Snakes and Scary Spiders. (Nobody F.star.star.star.i.n.g Cares).

What about Italy completely outclassing the Germans in the last minutes of year's World Cup Semifinal? Nice. 😀

1988 (I think) Stanley cup playoffs: Round 2, Calgary Flames vs Edmonton Oilers. Game 5, I think.

Tie game, overtime, Messier (Oiler) takes a stupid penalty, the oilers are short-handed. Gretzky takes the puck from his defensive end, streaks up yhe left side and once inside the blue line, rips a slap-shot over Mike Vernon's shoulder into the top-right corner. Absolutely unreal. The series ends and the Oilers coast to the cup.

I think that goal is still shown on Hockey Night in Canada's opening credits during the play-offs.

I miss the good-old days. GO OILERS!!!!!!!!!

Not one sporting moment has been mentioned yet in this thread. Baseball is sport. Sport is baseball. Everything else is a waste of time. Therefore, the greatest sporting moment of all time was Kirk Gibson's three run homerun off Goose Gossage in game five of the 1984 World Series.

That home-run wasn't even a walk-off.

Joe Carter, '93. 'Nuff said.

Are you trying to say that some guy hitting a ball with a stick is worthy of being remembered for 22 years?

At least I admit I'm biased.
