What about Number of the Beast?
Surely the finest of all Maiden albums.
Piece of Mind gets my vote for cover artwork though.
but the next two are more *coughs* critically acclimed than no. of the beast.
hallowed be thy name is still their greatset song though, and run to the hills and the title track are probubly their two best known...!

I think i better stay away from this thread before i dig myself in any deeper...(P.S. i apologize to all those offended.)
realized that when I was young...............MIchael Jackson was worth listening to......oh well we live and learn....I guess......I hope for your sake...
Hmmm, obviously lots of rockers among you. My tastes are a little different to the majority - although I would like to add that I was introduced to Dave Matthews less than 2 weeks ago and I think I like what I hear!
I have a top 10, except right now it's a top 13 because there are 3 relatively recent albums that are likely to shove their way in here. I don't assign an album a slot until I've known it for quite a while. Not everything stands the test of time.
10. Crowded House - Together Alone
9. Bryan Duncan (everybody says, "who?!"😉 - Mercy
8. Peter Gabriel - So
7. Simply Red - Picture Book (some people have ONE good album in them)
(?) Something for Kate - Echolalia
6. Wendy Matthews - Ghosts
5. Toni Childs - House of Hope
(?) Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
(?) george - Unity
4. Tears for Fears - The Seeds of Love
3. Marc Cohn - The Rainy Season
2. Tori Amos - Boys for Pele (heck, or several other albums, see my profile, but this is the one that is truly unique)
1. Sting - The Soul Cages
Something for Kate, Wendy Matthews and george are all Australian artists by the way. Bryan Duncan is a Christian pop singer who is quite light and fluffy most of the time, went a bit darker for one album and hit the bullseye in my opinion.

Pink Floyd - The Division Bell, Just love the guitar action
Beatles - White Album, never get tired of this one.

Miles Davis: "Nefertiti"
Nina Hagen: "Nina Hagen"
Captain Beefheart: "Trout Mask Replica"
Frank Zappa: "Apostrophe"
Rolling Stones: "Beggar's Banquet"
Queen: "Sheer Heart Attack"

I think So is one of Peter Gabriel's weakest albums. I thought Security was far superior.
Actually I don't even love ALL of So. Basically, I think of 6 of the tracks as the greatest EP ever and tend to ignore the other 3.
Hmmm...
Any of several David Bowie albums, but especially: Low, 'Heroes', Hunky Dory, Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) and (deep breath) The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here, The Wall.
Iggy and the Stooges: Raw Power (Iggy mix).
Cowboy Junkies: Trinity Sessions.
T.Rex: The Slider
The Velvet Underground and Nico
Pixies: Surfer Rosa (though it could have been shortened a bit)
Sonic Youth: Dirty
Nirvana: Nevermind
My Bloody Valentine: Loveless
How about a section for favourite song and album titles?
Album titles:
Dead Kennedys: Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death
Big Black: Songs About F**king
Song titles:
Pink Floyd: Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, Several Small Furry Animals in a Cave Grooving with a Pict

personally, as cool as it was for Syd to drop too much acid then live for 30 years in his mum's basement, Roger Waters is the real heart and soul of PF...
Having said all that, all respect to Dave Gilmour, a truly great guitarist. Pink Floyd would also have ceased to be Pink Floyd had he left instead of RW (and yes, i know he joined after Syd kind of lost it...)
