@drewnogal saidI've been over a few times over the past 5 years, Peru will always be closer to my heart but Colombia is nice as well. This time was purely because I couldn't handle all the constant lockdowns we were having and Colombia was one of the few countries completely open to travel to without needing a test to enter.
You must have learned a lot about people on your travels. I remember you mentioning a plan to visit Columbia a few years ago. How long have you been there?
But yes, I've been around and met a lot of different people, different cultures and mindsets. Some good, some bad, no where or no one is perfect.
@very-rusty saidKeeping a distance? No. Not at all. Wearing masks? Yes but not all.
So they aren't wearing masks or keeping distance?

@trev33 saidWhat could possibly go wrong with that?

@very-rusty saidI believe time has proven and other places doing similar things, not much.

@trev33 saidLets see how that works out, Trump did good not wearing a mask for awhile! 🙂

@very-rusty saidHe's still alive and well, what's your point?

@trev33 saidHow many people do you think followed his lead and are dead now?
He's still alive and well, what's your point?
Would that be a strong enough point for you?

Honestly we're not going to agree on this, I've looked into the tests and the virus and im as worried about catching it as I am worried about catching the flu.
If you want to know how deadly this virus is you need to check the death rates of last year and compare them with previous years. You might change your mind with a bit of digging and not just listening to the news.
@trev33 saidI look at all the lives lost that didn't have to be had people protected themselves better.

You sound like TRUMP it is like the flu, B.S. I say to that.
You are correct we are going to agree to disagree on this.
For God sake TRUMP can't even admit when he has lost an election.

@very-rusty saidWhy are you as a Canadian bringing the US president into this? It’s a country you have no part of, plenty of other world leaders who have dismissed the virus. Pesident of Tanzania tested some fruit for the virus, it tested positive 😂

If the media told you that 100 people died of the virus today, no sorry, with the virus, that what they have to say. You’d think that’s so sad right? What if they said in total 300 people died today and last year on the same day 290 people died, what would you think then?
@trev33 saidI'll give you a hint trev, what the U.S. does has an affect on Canada. I listen to what the medical experts are saying about virus.

-Removed-Yeah but still know people here. I think NI had just started a little lockdown but I flew from Dublin, London had just ended theirs on the day of my flight but still got asked a bunch of questions as to why I was travelling. Not sure if it was because of COVID or because I just had a single ticket, maybe a bit of both. Had a connection through Canada so maybe they were scared I miss my flight on purpose and stay there even though I wasn’t allowed to leave the airport? Had a feeling after Christmas it was going to be as strict as ever so thought it was better to leave.
@trev33 saidI don't believe they were allowing anyone from outside Canada out of the airport. I think you also had to remain in a certain area. Like you couldn't leave then come back and go through security check again. Where was your connection in Canada? Different provinces had different regulations.

@trev33 saidI think the idea is that we are stopping the hospitals from being overwhelmed by the seriously ill and making sure there can still be COVID free areas within them so that people with other illnesses have a better outcome. Don't think the idea is that we are doing this because death rates are through the ceiling, I think it's to stop admission rates going through the ceiling. Now whether it would have been a more economic strategy to have maintained higher numbers of clinical staff in the first place so the system was harder to overwhelm and could tolerate increased admission rates in the winter...
You tell me, you seem to know.

Is it possible that Colombia is a culture where a lot of people are simply more used to accepting being told no room at the inn and perhaps less likely to see treatment for serious illness as a given?
