..i love to go to the hardware store...i see rows of parts for electrical repair...i walk thru the aisle just for metric nuts and bolts...the paint department always has some new and handy tool to pretend that you don't
have to spend hours painting...the cash register has little munchies to buy
at the last minute...there are rows of shiny 30 gallon aluminum trash cans
out by the door and god forbid i should step into the tool department..i might never go home...ahh, the smell of 3 and 1 oil in the morning...

I’m fascinated by those home improvement and woodworking shows on TV. If I did everything to my house I wanted to, it’d cost more than the house is worth, but I like to fantasize. A visit to Lowe’s is like a trip to the store that sells chess books. I come home with something whether I need it or not.

I was on a holiday in Michigan this past summer. We went on a little tour of the area (Farwell/Clare) and came across a Menonite hardware store. It was an experience (pleasant) and believe it or not I bought some GREAT homemade pies and 2 dozen Nike golf balls. It was more like a General Store but often in small towns that's what they are.
