I saw one of the films in which one day is repeated over and over again, but I think it was the other one. I don't even remember what it was called, much less whether someone was taking xyr own life.

I can't find a film called "24" that sounds anything like it (and most of the films called "24" I found were produced much later anyway).

It's actually a TV series where each of the 24 episodes in a season represent an hour in one full day.

My response was meant to imply that the show's plot has become pretty formulaic.

I have heard about the TV series and looked up what it's about, but that seems to be a completely different idea as the day doesn't repeat itself. The film I saw had exactly the same idea as Groundhog Day. They came out around the same time; I think the one I saw came out a bit later than the other one, but had actually been planned earlier, so they hadn't copied the idea.

You've missed the point of the joke, 24 isn't supposed to be repeating the same day, though if you've never seen it before I guess you wouldn't know that. The point is that each season of 24 is based around a different day, but because it's formulaic it feels like it's being repeated. Sorry if my explanation is patronising it isn't meant to be.

There was a film with time loops called '12:01' could this be it?
